I just found out today that Vlad passed away and I am stunned. He had such a passionate and energetic personna. I was co- founder of an executive search firm that conducted two Vice President searches. He stood out, he stands out...I am terriblly saddened...way too young!
I met Vlad only once at a SaaS conference in Monterey in March of 2007. He was speaking on a panel about application scalability. After the panel, I spoke with Vlad about the problems with scalability of hosted apps. He was very polite and spent a fair bit of time talking to me. As the time I was VP of Product Management for a troubled started here in Toronto. Vlad was very forthright about his views and offered me some advice for finding a positive outcome for the startup. I remember that conversation well. Today I was surfing the web and thought I'd take a look and see how Vlad and 3Tera were doing. I was puzzled when I didn't see his name on the Management list, but knowing executive shuffles happen, I thought I'd see what had transpired. I was shocked to read about his sudden death. Although I only met him once, he did leave an impression on me and a intelligent, professional and generous person. I'm so sorry to hear about his passing and wish to pass my condolences to his family and friends. Saeed
I worked with Vlad at Z-force and am incredibly sadden to hear about his passing. He was the smartest, most passionate entrepreneur that I have ever worked with. In my entire business life, I have not met another person who could express such innovative vision and ideas. He was dedicated to his craft and to his life. My condolences to Krassy, Peter and everyone at 3Tera.
At times like these, one can easily lose focus, hope or even wish to live. I know, been there...not easy to cope. But what I want to tell you, his family, is that if you trust God and stick close to HIM, your eyes will not stop shedding tears, but your heart will have hope. Hope that someday you will meet your loved one again.
I perfectly understand your pain and sorrow, my mom died in 1999 after 1 year of neck cancer pain and suffering, and I have been there: lookign up and asking the big WHY? question
I denied God, I fought againts friends trying to comfort me, I said to myself "I have no reason to trust this deaf God" ... but through it all, HE kept me going, always caring, always keeping me in HIS arms.
I will pray for you with my wife and kids, may God bless you.

I met Vlad last year at Office 2.0. He put on a great presentation. I remember talking with him and his team afterwards... telling them how impressed I was. He was such a warm and friendly guy. What a sad and tragic loss.
My condolences and my deepest sympathies go out to his friends, his team at 3tera and most importantly, to his family.
Wow- this is a shock - I just met Vlad at Hostingcon and had a great conversation. this is a big loss of a brilliant mind in our industry. what a super nice guy as well in my brief time of knowing him.
All of our best wishes and prayers to your family.
While I have not known Vlad long, in fact I just met him recently at some of the hosting related conferences, I must say I was immediately taken with his passion and drive. It hearkened me back to the early days of the industry, when people were excited about what the Internet could bring to the world. Then the whole Dot Bomb thing happened, and the industry stalled or maybe more correctly "staled". It become boring and more about the bottomline than changing the world. Vlad reminded me of those days; his passion and energy was like those times.
The Industry will miss him; we will all miss him. I hope that nobody forgets that it is people like him that make things happen and we need more Vlads.
I met Vlad through LinkedIn and based on the our conversations I invested money in 3Tera. I talked to many VCs and they would say he was uninvestable. I totally disagree with them. He had a passion for technology and a vision that rans through his veins. That kind of drive and the intensity in his eyes made me believe fully in him that I invested more.
Vlad, as 3Tera succeeds, your passion flows through the company and everyone who met you. You will be missed and I sad to say I lost a friend.
Vlad was always a force to be reckoned with. His ability to cut through complexity and hype to distill issues to their basic elements was amazing. Many times, after talking with Vlad, I'd be left scratching my head wondering how I'd missed something so obvious. Of course, it was only obvious to Vlad.
Vlad's energy was infectious. Those of us fortunate enough to know him will carry his spirit with us always.
